Land Rules

All land in GFSN is titled, just like real property. Players can buy, lease, sell, or auction lots, but they must stay within their allowed acreage and follow the land rules.

Buying and finding land

  • Land for sale is shown on the map legend and related property pages.
  • Some lots are available immediately, while other lots are undeveloped until a developer titles them and offers them for sale.
  • Land may also appear at monthly auctions, so it is helpful to watch for new listings.

Land Zoning

  • Land can be zoned as FARMLAND, MIXED COMMERCIAL, COMMERCIAL and FORESTRY
  • Players can apply via the permit process to get land they own rezoned for other uses.
  • Land designated as FORESTRY LOTS have special rules which must be followed by players.
  • Any trees taken from a forestry lot MUST BE REPLANTED as they are removed.
  • Forestry lot's cannot be rezoned to another use as they are permanent features of the map and must remain intact !

Leasing land

  • Players may lease land within their allowed acreage limit.
  • Leased land cannot be modified or built on.
  • When the lease expires, the player must leave the property within 24 hours.
  • Any items left behind after that time may be impounded and auctioned.
  • Leased land cannot be subleased to another player.

Owning land

  • Players may purchase only the amount of land allowed by their player profile.
  • If a new purchase or lease would put you over your limit, you must sell or release existing land first.
  • Additional acreage may be earned by completing Farming Futures contracts.

Selling land

  • Players may sell land directly to another player, auction it, or list it through a real estate broker.
  • Players should think carefully before buying property and locking their farm into long-term ownership.
  • Players may also sell lots back to Global Title during January at a discounted rate.
