Factory Rules
Factories can be very profitable, but they are not easy to run. Success depends on keeping costs under control, using correct pricing, and maintaining enough cash to cover operations.
How factories work
- Factories take one or more inputs and turn them into a new product.
- Some products are sold on the market, while others become inputs for another factory.
- Factories can be profitable, but poor cost control can create losses quickly.
Factory limits
- Each server has a maximum number of factories it can support.
- Players may own up to 10 factories per server.
- Factories are placed on a first-come, first-served basis, so availability depends on both server space and player limits.
Factory placement
- Factories may be built in the industrial park or on commercially zoned land.
- If a player does not own commercial land, the factory may be placed in the industrial park for a placement fee.
- Industrial park placement usually includes extra monthly fees.
Factory funding
- Each factory has its own wallet and must be funded separately from the player’s wallet.
- Owners must keep enough cash on hand to cover deliveries and other operating costs.
Monthly expenses
- Factories pay monthly maintenance costs based on the major product lines they produce.
- Electricity, water, trash removal, and used box disposal may add extra monthly fees.
- Factories placed in the industrial park may also pay a monthly condo fee.
Factory ownership rules
- Players may own more than one factory, but they may not build multiple copies of the same factory type.
Pricing rules
Players must use the recipe pricing calculator to set fair high and low prices for each product. This helps keep factory profits realistic and ensures the factory can earn money even when input costs are high. If multiple recipes can produce the same item, the factory owner may use the highest-cost recipe amount for pricing purposes.
Farmers supply conditions
If a player sells supplies such as diesel, fertilizer, seed, or lime to Farmers Supply, they are responsible for keeping the silos stocked on all servers. If stocking is not maintained, WSS may cancel the supply agreement and take over filling the silos.
